I think HP have a SKU with Linux preloaded so it should Ubuntu/Fedora/OpenSUSE should run nicely on it and make for a neat little on the go machine.

Congrats! I bought the same computer precisely for use on the train. It has almost completely replaced my Macbook Pro. I am very interested in your experiment with Leopard on it, though. Good luck!
